Rowington Meet Report - June 2026
Friday, 12th June - Sunday, 14th June, 2026
A big thank you to our stewards, Beth and Bill, for a lovely weekend. The sun was shining and we were able to enjoy setting up in lovely weather. The theme was Summer Holidays and in one corner was Mystic Meg’s tent - though she seemed to be unaware of the irony that she was “unavoidably detained” In another part of the hall were the bucket and spades and beachball.
Friday evening began with everyone bringing their meal into the hall and eating together. This was a time for a chat and a catch up. The Friday Summer quiz was, in some cases, a topic of conversation, too. The worthy quiz winners were June and Jeff. The MC for the evening was our Chairman Mark. There were also numerous excellent, entertaining spots from members around the hall and dances were called by Mark, Glen and Gay.
On Saturday morning, Beth led a craft session making serviette holders. Everyone really enjoyed this activity. In the background, impromptu music could be heard. Beth had laid on icecream for everyone instead of the usual afternoon tea break.
On Saturday evening there was a shared supper and the table was laden with delicious food. Beth was MC for the evening wearing her RingMaster’s hat and a variety of poems, music, songs and dancing being enjoyed by everyone.
On Sunday morning, Bob, our webmaster, gave a crash course to Gay about editing the website, which is now live.
