Rowington Meet Report - June 2025

Friday, 13th June ­- Sunday, 15th June, 2025

A big thank you to our stewards, Beth and Bill, for a lovely weekend.  The sun was shining and the members in the ten units on site were able to enjoy setting up in lovely weather.

Friday evening began with everyone bringing their meal into the hall and eating together. This was a time for a chat and a catch up. The Friday 'Inventions' quiz was, in some cases, a topic of conversation, too. The worthy quiz winner was Mark Simons. The MC for the evening was Beth. Over the weekend, the band was Ivan and Gay, with Ivan taking the lead and dances were called by Wendy, Mark, John, Mike and Eleanor, with Eleanor introducing us to a Scottish dance which was most enjoyable. There were also numerous excellent, entertaining spots from members around the hall.  Thank you, everyone.

On Saturday morning, Beth led a papercraft session making hats. Everyone really enjoyed this activity. In the background, impromptu music could be heard. On Saturday afternoon, Gay led an iris folding craft session and again, everyone enjoyed this activity. Thank you, Beth and Gay.

On Saturday evening there was a shared supper and the table was laden with delicious food.  Saturday's 'Bee' quiz was won by Wendy and John.  Mark was MC for the evening and a variety of poems, music, songs and dancing being enjoyed by everyone. 

On Sunday morning, Bob, our webmaster, explained our new website, which is now live, to the members. His hard work is appreciated and his explanation of how to navigate the website was most welcome.
