Shatterford Meet Report - February 2026

Write Up For One Day Meet At Shatterford, 7th February 2026

Julia and I had elected to steward the one day meet and we were given the theme of Valentines.

We greeted everyone with a welcome drink and biscuits and then settled to the afternoon’s activities. Julia had prepared 3D Valentine cards while I began a folk session.

Care for a spot?

What a lovely afternoon, so much chat, so many smiles. Then it was time for tea. Everyone helped with tables and chairs, tablecloths were laid, the oven was on and we had a superb “bring and share” spread. Julia had prepared a valentine quiz and after tea I attached a name to each members’ back. No one was allowed to ask a direct question as to their identity but all were pairs of lovers. Could each find their “love”?

For the rest of the evening it was dancing and song spots. What a lovely day and a portent of all the weekends to come. My thanks to Julia who had a round trip of over fifty miles to be my co-organiser.
